About This Experience
Known locally as Nyari — 'the place broken by itself' — Marafa is an otherworldly sandstone gorge scoured by wind and rain into sculpted walls of red, orange, cream and white.
Best experienced in the late afternoon when the low sun sets the canyon walls ablaze, followed by a guided walk down into the sculpted floor.
